Abe mailed the ticket in the same day, and to his surprise, received a notice of conviction weeks later. The court claims that no letter was received. Abe then filed a reopening, which was denied.
The denial of reopenings seems to be a trend in the province. It is becoming more and more common that we have clients call in with problems they have had trying to have their case reopened, often with legitimate reasons for the request.
